YABLONOVSKY ART
A look at the artist, the process, and how the work is made.
About the Artist
I paint in the quiet moments that live between the noise—
where light shifts, storms pass, and life breathes. What began as a way to survive life’s heaviest seasons has grown into a body of work shaped by calm, imagination, and resilience.
About the Artist
I create paintings that explore the quiet power of nature and the emotion hidden in light, color, and atmosphere. Whether I’m building a dramatic mountain landscape, capturing the calm of an early morning river, or imagining a world that exists only in my mind, I paint to share moments that feel meaningful—moments that make people pause.
My work blends realism with a touch of imagination. I’m drawn to layered mountains, textured evergreens, shifting skies, and scenes that feel both familiar and a little mysterious. I also enjoy stepping outside traditional landscapes to create surreal environments that invite interpretation. Across styles, my focus stays the same: depth, mood, and a sense of place.
I work primarily in oils and acrylics, using both controlled detail and expressive brushwork to let each painting develop naturally. Some pieces come out bold and bright; others emerge quiet and moody. All reflect the experiences and environments that have shaped me over the years.
I create art because I love the process, but also because of what happens after a piece leaves my hands. Seeing my paintings find a place in someone’s home—becoming a memory, a moment of calm, or simply something they enjoy living with—is one of the best parts of being an artist.
Thank you for being here, for supporting original art, and for giving these paintings a life beyond the canvas.

The Artist Behind the Work
A look at the experiences, imagination, and moments that guide my paintings.
My Journey
I didn’t begin painting with the intention of becoming an artist. I picked up a brush during a difficult season of life—going through a divorce, attending paint-and-sip nights simply to get out of the house and keep my mind occupied. But even in that casual, lighthearted setting, something unexpected happened: I found myself pushing past the step-by-step instructions and creating my own scenes, my own colors, my own style.
I’ve always had this instinct to do things differently than what’s expected, and painting became a place where that instinct felt not only welcome, but necessary. Other people in the class noticed it, too—how I’d shift the palette, change the composition, or add something imaginative that wasn’t on the example canvas. What started as distraction quickly became expression.
There was also something familiar about painting—a connection to my childhood. My dad used to paint as a way to process grief after losing a child. I remember looking at his work and feeling the quiet emotion inside each scene. That memory stayed with me. Years later, when I began creating my own pieces, I understood for the first time how deeply art can help you feel, release, and make sense of things that don’t have easy answers.
As life moved forward, so did my art. When I remarried, our world expanded fast—combining our children into one big, busy, beautifully blended family. Suddenly there was movement, personality, and adventure everywhere. But with that adventure came a weight I hadn’t expected: the responsibility, the reinvention, the constant pressure to hold everything together. There were days it felt like life was stacking more on my shoulders than I could carry… and yet, somehow, every bit of that weight was shaping me, strengthening me, and carving out deeper places inside me for compassion, resilience, and creativity. Through all of it—through the chaos, the joy, and even the moments that felt crushing—painting became my steady place to breathe, process, and rebuild myself one brushstroke at a time.
What surprised me most was how much joy these paintings brought to other people. I’ll never forget showing a piece to a childhood friend who immediately asked for a four-by-three-foot print of it. Moments like that taught me something important: the meaning inside a painting doesn’t disappear once it leaves your hands—it continues in the person who sees it, connects with it, and invites it into their home.
Today, my work blends realism with imagination. Some pieces are calm and atmospheric; others are bold or surreal. But they all hold pieces of the journey that shaped me—grief, resilience, rebuilding, family, growth, and the strange, beautiful complexity of life.
Painting is how I process it. Sharing it is how I connect with others.
If my art brings someone peace, hope, curiosity, or simply a moment to pause, then it has done exactly what I hoped it would.
This is my story. And every painting is a chapter of it.

Vision
Values
My vision is to build a body of work that uplifts and connects people—art that brings calm to busy lives, inspiration to quiet moments, and a sense of wonder to the everyday. I hope to continue growing, experimenting, and sharing my journey through paintings that resonate deeply with those who experience them. Ultimately, I want my art to live in homes and spaces where it becomes part of someone else’s story—adding comfort, beauty, and meaning for years to come.
My mission is to create artwork that brings peace, meaning, and emotional connection into people’s lives—paintings that help others pause, breathe, and feel something real. Through nature-inspired scenes and imaginative landscapes, I aim to transform personal experiences into art that comforts, inspires, and invites reflection.
- Authentic Expression
I paint from real emotion, real experience, and real moments. My work reflects honesty, vulnerability, and the stories that shape me.
- Connection Through Art
I believe art is a bridge—between people, memories, emotions, and perspectives. My goal is for others to see something of themselves in my work.
- Creativity Without Boundaries
I trust imagination. I follow instinct. I allow each piece to develop naturally, without forcing it into expected rules or limitations.
- Growth Through Challenge
Life has been heavy at times, but every weight has strengthened me. I value the resilience, depth, and understanding that grow from hardship—and I pour those lessons into my art.
- Craftsmanship & Care
Every detail matters. I value the skill, patience, and intention behind each brushstroke, and I take pride in creating art that lasts—both physically and emotionally.
- Beauty in Imperfection
Nature, life, and people are imperfect. I embrace that in my work—leaning into the textures, moods, and organic shapes that make each piece unique.
